KUNJHACHAN BEATIFIED ON 30 APRIL 2006
The beatification of Father Augustine Thevarparampil,
an apostle of India's "untouchables," was held in the latter's native
village of Ramapuram this spring April 2006.
Cardinal Angelo Sodano, the Secretary of State informed Cardinal Varkey Vithayathil,
the Major Archbishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly, of the Syro-Malabar rite,
of the Pope's permission to direct the beatification ceremony
of the Venerable Servant of God Augustine Thervarparampil in Ramapuram.
